NAUGATUCK — Arthur Gerrity, 80, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Helen (Dunham) Gerrity.
Mr. Gerrity was born July 30, 1940, in Flushing, N.Y., the son of the late William and Anna (Geiser) Gerrity. He was a longtime Naugatuck resident, where he worked as a tool setter. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Besides his wife of 54 years, Mr. Gerrity is survived by his children, Susan Kuczenski (Henry “Jay”), William Gerrity (Debbie) and Michael Gerrity (Amy); his son-in-law, Richard Jeannin; his grandchildren, Gabriel Jeannin, Kaitlin Lindsly (Zach), Amber Shirey (Joseph), Shealynn Kuczenski, Alex Kuczenski, Eva Gerrity Bella Gerrity, Raymond LeClaire, Emily Gerrity, Oliver Gerrity and Michael Kuczenski; his great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Ben Lindsly and Julianne and Evan Shirey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gerrity is predeceased by his daughter, Christine Jeannin; as well as his sister, Patricia Crandall.
Visitation for Mr. Gerrity will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. A funeral service will conclude visitation at 6:30 pm. The Naugatuck Veteran’s Council will render honors at 6 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at St. James Cemetery.
