Antonio Goncalves Teixeira

SOUTHBURY — Antonio Goncalves Teixeira, 43, of 304 Dublin Road, passed away suddenly on Nov. 15.

Tony was raised in Naugatuck, a son of Antonio Alves Teixeira and Virginia (Goncalves) Teixeira. He attended Mattatuck Community College and the University of Bridgeport. He worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for 21 years. Inspired by his calling from God, Tony has been a writer since 2006. He penned three books, including “Poetry with God.”

Besides his parents Tony is survived by his sister, Maria and her family, Fernando, Daniel and David Camacho of Southbury. He is also survived by his sister, Lucia Teixeira Akers of Cheshire and by her son and daughter, Tyler and Sophie Virden. He also has two brothers, Domingos G. Teixeira of Naugatuck and Manuel G. Teixeira of Middlebury and his family, Maria, Gabriella, Joaquim and Tomas.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect.
