Obituary: Anne (Annie) D. Wise

SOUTHBURY — Anne (Annie) D. Wise, 93, beloved mother and grandmother, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.

Anne was born in Nu Mine, Pa. on May 21, 1918. Her parents were Anne and Michael Lischinsky.

She raised her family in the Bridgeport area where she worked as a graphic artist for over 20 years at New England Printing Co. She also worked for a time as a personal Nanny.

Anne moved to Southbury in 1976 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Albert Keiser. There she was happiest when spending time with her family including many of her 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and accomplished dancer with her favorite being the polka. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the SS Norden Club of Fairfield and loved to vacation on Block Island. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of Southbury.

She was preceded in death by her longtime companion Martin Swanson of Monroe. She is survived by her three children and a son-in-law, Kathleen and Albert Keiser of Truckee Calif., Edward Wise of Monroe, and Evelyn Ramic of Stamford; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered as our “Nanny Wise.”

Memorial Services will be held at a later date and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
