Anna (Zwolinski) Ranaudo

NAUGATUCK — Anna Z. (Zwolinski) Ranaudo, 97, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 peacefully at the Watertown Convalarium. She was widow of Anthony Ranaudo.

Mrs. Ranaudo was bon in Naugatuck on Dec. 19, 1914, daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Ann (Ambrosiewicz) Zwolinski. She was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck and she had retired from Howland Hughes Co. after 25 years of service. Anna had also worked for Peter Paul Co. in Naugatuck and she was responsible for selecting the name of the Almond Joy candy bar. She was an active parishioner of St. Hedwig Church, where she was a member of the church choir and past president of the Ladies Guild. Anna enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time on Cape Cod beaches. She was also a past den mother in the Naugatuck Cub Scouts. Her family and friends will remember her lovingly for her wisdom, integrity, kindness and sense of humor.

She leaves four sons, Patrick Ranaudo of Woodbury, Gregory Ranaudo of Oakville,
Anthony Ranaudo of Bethlehem, and Mark Ranaudo of Naugatuck; a daughter Barbara
Clancy of Yarmouthport, Mass.; five sisters, Helen Magone of Naugatuck, Marie Wright and Frances Paglino, both of Florida, Connie Welch of California, and Regina Faass of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
