KEYPORT, N.J. — Anna Marie (Regan) Hanley, 91, of Keyport, N. J., passed away on Thursday, May 19. She was born Dec. 20, 1919 in New York City and moved to Keyport several years ago.
She leaves four children, Thomas Hanley of Manchester, N.H., Cornelius Hanley of Bridgewater, N.J., Jane Salamone of East Orange, N.J. and Margaret Cretella of Naugatuck, Conn.; 14 grandchildren including Anne Cretella Ciacciarella and her husband, Mike; Joanne Cretella, Mary Cretella Rey and her husband Mike and grandson Kevin Cretella, all of Naugatuck. She leaves 21 great-grandchildren including Anthony Cretella, Jane Cretella, and Michael, Vincent, Sofia and Anna Marie Ciacciarella, all of Naugatuck. She also leaves six great-great grandchildren.
“Nana” would frequently come to Naugatuck to visit, most of those years by train. Many here in Naugatuck knew her through her daughter, Margaret, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her “Nana blankets” that she would crochet to celebrate new babies of family and friends. She was a past member of the Naugatuck Ancient Order of Hibernians Ladies Auxiliary and proudly wore her AOH pin on her winter coat.
Calling hours are Sunday, May 22 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Redden’s Funeral Home, 325 West 14th Street, New York City. Mass of Christian burial on Monday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Veronica’s Church, 149 Christopher St., New York City. Burial is in Calvary Cemetary, Queens, New York.
