WATERBURY — Mrs. Ann M. (Brophy) Niski, 96, of Meriden Road, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Francis A. Niski.
Mrs. Niski was born in Waterbury on May 22, 1916, daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Gladney) Brophy. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and retiree of the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. She was a member of the Senior Women’s Friendship Club and A.A.R.P. Chapter 495. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She leaves her son, Joseph A. Niski and his wife San of Netherlands; her daughter, Maryann McEvoy and her husband Joseph of Naugatuck; two granddaughters, Joanne Belfiore and her husband Joseph of Naugatuck, Sharon Lynn and her husband Michael of Naugatuck; her great-grandsons, Anthony Marfia and Michael Lynn; several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury.
