NAUGATUCK — Alexandra “Alice” (Chmielinski) DeJoseph, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at Regency Health Care Center in Stamford.
Alice was born in Naugatuck, daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine (Roman) Chmielinski. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and was a former employee of Peter Paul Co. for many years. She had also worked in real estate and was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church.
She is survived by her two nieces, Barbara Forgione and her husband Peter Forgione of Stamford, and Sandra Sweet of Waterbury; several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Alice was predeceased by her brothers, Victor and Alexander Chmielinski; her sisters, Helen H. Jones and Madeline Chmielinski; and a grandnephew Vincent James Forgione.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck is assisting the family with arrangements.
