NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Albina R. (Kogut) Koris, 91, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Waterbury Hospital. She was widow of John V. Koris, Sr.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1921 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late George and Kucy (Nickodemski) Kogut. Albina was a longtime member and past president of the Watertown Art League. She was a lovely and proud lady. She lived independently until her death.

She is survived by her son, John V. Koris Jr. and his wife Nancy; her grandson, John V. Koris III and his wife Amy; her granddaughter, Sara Scialo and her husband Michael and great-grandchildren John V. Koris, IV, Sophie Koris and Emery Scialo, all of Rochester, N.Y. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Florence Sullivan and brothers, Joseph Kogut and his wife Rita of Naugatuck and Raymond Kogut of Virginia. She also leaves her sisters-in-law, Lucille Kogut and Karen Tracey as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Albina was predeceased by her husband, John in 1972 and her daughter, Susan in 1991, as well as her brothers, Henry Kogut, Edward Kogut, and her brother-in-law, William Sullivan.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service.
