Obituary: Aida (Garcia) Bilbao

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Mrs. Aida (Garcia) Bilbao, 94, of St. Petersburg, Fla. formerly of Naugatuck, died Thursday, Aug. 11. She was the widow of Alexander Bilbao.

Mrs. Bilbao was born in Ludlow, Mass. on May 4,1917 daughter of the late Joaquim and Senhorina (Pereira) Garcia. She was retired from the T.F. Butterfield Company in Naugatuck where she had worked for 16 years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxillary of Club Uniao Portuguesa in Naugatuck, a past president of the Portuguese Continental Union Lodge #42, a member of the Ladies of Rosary of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Portuguese Sport Club of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mrs. Bilbao is survived by a daughter, Gloria Ruela of Naugatuck; three grandchildren, Debra Tigeleiro of Naugatuck, Michael Ruela of Naugatuck, and Todd Ruela of Naugatuck; and a great granddaughter, Alivia Nicholle Tigeleiro.

She was predeceased by a brother, Jose Garcia.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 8:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury for a mass at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. James cemetery in Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
