WATERBURY — Marlene (Kelley) Cronin “Peggy Fenn,” age 84, widow of James Cronin, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at her home.
She was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, on Sept. 11, 1938, daughter of the late Marrill and Harriet (Shaw) Kelley. She was a longtime resident of Naugatuck and moved to Waterbury 20 years ago.
Marlene was a community advocate and the former owner of Peggy Fenn’s in Naugatuck for 18 years. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary (past president), Elks Club, Waterbury AOH, and Eagles Club Aerie 640 in Naugatuck, where she was elected Mother of the Year.
Peggy enjoyed the casino, country music and was a huge Elvis fan.
She leaves her children, James Fenn (deceased), Darlene Camp, June Fenn (deceased), Lori Fenn (deceased), Joanne Fenn, Mark Fenn (deceased), Shirley Fenn (deceased), Jodi Miller (deceased), Dawn Fenn and Stacey Fenn; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Marlene was predeceased by her former husbands, Donald Fenn and John Urgitis.
Family and friends were to visit on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 9 to10:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 N. Main St. in Naugatuck. A Mass of Christian Burial was to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Burial was to be in St. James Cemetery.
