NAUGATUCK — Maria A. Santos, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022, at VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of Herminio Santos.
Mrs. Santos was born Sep. 3, 1936, in Setubal, Portugal, the daughter of the late Domingos and Albertina Marques. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident moving to town in 1969. She worked at both Uniroyal and Peter Paul.
Besides her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Santos is survived by her sons, Carlos Santos and Michael Santos and his wife, Shannon; as well as her grandchildren, Madison, Holly, and Aaron Santos.
Maria was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, tending to her flower bed, knitting, sewing, and traveling.
Funeral services and committal in St. James Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
