BRISTOL — Laura Ann DaSilva’s beautiful soul went to heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022.
Laura was born Oct. 19, 1976, the daughter of Joaquim “Jack” DaSilva and Patricia (Pratte) Hein. Her childhood was spent in Naugatuck where she attended Andrew Avenue, Hillside Middle School, and graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1994.

Throughout life she became passionate for art and attended college at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Mass. She fell in love with Massachusetts and decided to continue her life there after graduation living in Beverly and Peabody. In 1997, she began working at Higgenson Book Company in Salem Mass, her passion for the business led her to become the proud owner of the family history book company. In 2020, she moved her business to Bristol, Conn., where she purchased her dream house, an old Victorian that allowed her to merge her home with her business while being closer to family.

Laura had an infectious personality that left you wanting more time with her. Her realness made you appreciate her, her heart let you know she was genuine, and her laugh made you smile. She was a talented artist and sold many of her prints in Salem during Halloween.

Her home was decorated with antique religious wall hangings and statues and during Halloween and Christmas you can expect that Laura wouldn’t disappoint when it came to the holiday decor. She loved all genres of music and 80s nostalgia. She was loving, loyal, funny, witty, competitive, and dependable. She will be dearly missed.

Besides her father, mother, and stepfather, Bob Hein, Laura is survived by her brother, Jason DaSilva and his wife, Kelley; her sister, Lisa Gentile and her husband, John; her sister, Brittany Lemos; as well as her nieces Bella and Eliana; and her nephews Cole, Cameron and Myles.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. James Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oonah DeVries, c/o North Shore Bank, 73 Lafayette St., Salem MA 01970.
