WATERBURY — Judite “Judy” (Pinto) Fernandes, 67, loving wife of Manuel Fernandes, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital.
Born in Canedo, Ribeira De Pena, Portugal, on May 28, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Carolina (Lopes) Pinto. Judy lived in Waterbury for more than 50 years and retired from EFC in Waterbury.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, Manny, she is survived by her daughter, Laura Fernandes; her brother, Pedro Lopes; her sisters, Teresa Alves and Cristina Apuzzo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Judy was predeceased by her brothers, Domingos and Antonio Pinto.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Burial will be private. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 N. Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
