NAUGATUCK — Joseph Edward Jecture, 62, a devoted son, brother, and uncle, fell asleep in death on the morning of Dec. 25, 2022, after losing a courageous battle with cancer.

Joe was born in Waterbury on Feb. 18, 1960, the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Baummer) Jecture. He was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck, attending local schools, and then furthering his education at Waterbury State Tech and the University of New Haven, where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. Joe worked for a time at TIE Communications and later at IBM Headquarters.

He was a devoted member of the West Naugatuck congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served as an elder for many years. Joe loved people and was never too busy to reach out with a helping hand or a listening ear. He touched the lives of many people and will be missed.

Joe leaves his three sisters, Linda Schreiber of Naugatuck, Marianne Manne of Northfield, N.J., and Catherine Jecture of Litchfield; four nieces, Andrea Tatalias and her husband, Christopher, of Shelton, Sarah Reeves and her husband, Judah, of Milford, Christy Manne of Northfield, N.J., and Stacey Bienert of Boyertown, Pa.; a nephew, Daniel Schreiber of Shelton; three grandnieces, Penelope Tatalias, Camryn and Paisley Manne; and two grandnephews, Brandon Manne and Jack Reeves. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Irene Jecture, and two brothers-in-law, Jost-Heinrich Schreiber and Jody Manne.

A memorial talk was Jan. 28, 2023. The burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home was entrusted with Joe’s final arrangements.
