CHESHIRE — Joanne DiDomizio, 73, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at her home. She was the wife of Thomas DiDomizio.
Mrs. DiDomizio was born Aug. 2, 1949, in Derby, the daughter of Marie (Larkin) Dunn and the late John Dunn. She was raised in Naugatuck, attending St. Francis Grammar School, and graduating from Naugatuck High School, class of 1967.
She was one of the original employees of Mattatuck Bank and moved to Cheshire in 1977. Upon her children entering the school system, she worked in the cafeteria at Cheshire High School. She was known for her support of Cheshire football and never missed her children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events.
Her favorite pastimes were reading and trips to the casino. Over the last 36 years, she enjoyed vacationing in Maine.
Besides her husband of 50 years and her mother Marie, Mrs. DiDomizio is survived by her children, Tony DiDomizio and his wife Mary-Ann, Tim DiDomizio and his fiancee Cari DeLorenzo; her sister Karen Dunn; and her grandchildren Nicholas DiDomizio, Jaxon DiDomizio, Levi DiDomizio, Alisa DeLorenzo and Chase DiDomizio.
In addition to her father, Mrs. DiDomizio was predeceased by her son Tommy, as well as her brother John Dunn.
Visitation was to be on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Her funeral was to be on Wednesday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was to follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
