PROSPECT — Gloria Y. Lamontagne, 79, of Prospect, passed away at her Prospect home. She was the widow of Robert E. Lamontagne.

Gloria was born on April 8, 1943, in St. John, Maine, the daughter of Stella and Felix Bouthot. Gloria was a faithful member of St. Anthony Church, where she volunteered at many church events including bingo. Gloria was a devoted certified nurse’s aide at Country Manor Convalescent Home of Prospect. She dedicated her life to caring for her patients until her retirement.

Gloria and Bob spent all their spare time camping and traveling. They were members of Connecticut-based Lamplighter’s Camping Club, where they shared many laughs with friends. Gloria’s passion was watching the New York Yankees, New England Patriots and UConn Huskies basketball with her family, as well as playing dominoes on Wednesday game night with Carol, Bob, Keith, Lori, and Bruce.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Terriann and her husband Nelson Abarzua, Robert Lamontagne and his wife Ethna, Jeffrey Lamontagne and his wife Dawn, and Scott Lamontagne and his wife Eliangela.

Gloria, aka Mema, also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren that she bragged about constantly: Trevor Abarzua and his wife Jaena, Macie Lamontagne, Dylan Abarzua and his wife Kori, Brae Lamontagne, Jeffrey D. Lamontagne, Luiza Pissinati and Jacob Lamontagne; and her spoiled dog, Molly.

Gloria is survived by her brother, Claude Bouthot and his wife Albertine, her brother Felix Bouthot Jr.; and sisters-in-law Joan Klem and Ada Bouthot. She was a special aunt to more than 50 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert E. Lamontagne; her sister Theresa Saucier and her husband Wilford Saucier, and sister Alice Lacombe and her husband Rheal J. Lacombe; and brothers George Bouthot, Gilbert Boutote and his wife Mary, and Wilmer Bouthot and brother-in-law Kenneth Klem; nieces Carla Boutote and Judy Angelicola; and nephew Rick Boutote.

Calling hours were to be Thursday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Gloria trusted Kim and Mike Palmerie with her final services. Gloria’s funeral Mass was to be celebrated by Father Mark Suslenko, and with the angelic voice of niece Jackie Boutote Cote as cantor, on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Interment was to immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Gloria’s nieces, Lisa Ruby, Sandy Heller, and Lori Lacombe, for their skillful and knowledgeable care during Gloria’s final days.
