ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Francis (Frank) Michael Giannone, 73, of Ormond Beach, Fla. and formerly of Ansonia and Naugatuck, Conn., died in Florida on Sept. 12, 2024. He was the husband of the late Jolene Seely Giannone, son of the late Frank A. and Alicia (Lycett) Giannone; was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Elena (Alu) Seely; and sister-in-law, Sue (Ciccone) Seely; and brother-in-law, Richard Santa Maria.
Frank is survived by his brother, David Giannone (Pamela), of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sisters, Sharon Brangaccio (Russell) of Conway, S.C., and Barbara Santa Maria of Watertown, Conn.; and brother-in-law, Eugene (Skip) Seely of Naugatuck, Conn.
Additionally, he leaves nieces Susan Seely Monsam (fiance Anthony Amoroso) of Prospect, Conn., Jennifer Brangaccio Marks (Russell) of Keswick, Va., and Emily Ginocchio of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; nephews Joseph Seely (Traci) of Cheshire, Conn., Jason Seely of Prospect, Conn., John Brangaccio (Jessica) of Green Castle, Pa., Michael Ginocchio (Samantha) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Nicholas and Robert Santa Maria of Connecticut; also great-nieces Ashley Monsam Arias (Jefferson) of Cheshire, Conn., Sarah Seely Hurd (Matthew) of Naugatuck, Conn., and Sophia Lynn Seely, Emma Longo and Isabella Markeveys of Prospect, Conn.; along with great-nephews Andrew Monsam of Middletown, Conn., Russell and Ryan Marks of Keswick, Va., and Oz Brangaccio of Green Castle, Pa.; and great-great-nephews, Jacob and Ryan Hurd of Naugatuck, Conn., and Nathan and Bradley Arias of Cheshire, Conn.; and several dear cousins and friends.
A 1971 graduate of Emmett O’Brien RVTS in Ansonia, and Connecticut School of Electronics in New Haven, he worked at General DataComm for more than 50 years at various positions, advancing to vice president of operations.
He was an accomplished pianist, bass guitarist and brass musician; was active for many years in local community theater groups; as well as the Oxford Explorers, Connecticut Hurricanes, and Connecticut Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps.
For much of his life in Connecticut, he also enjoyed camping and deep sea fishing. Frank practiced his Christian faith at Ansonia Holy Rosary R.C. Church and the Orange Congregational Church.
At Frank’s request, funeral arrangements are private and there will be no calling hours. His cremains will be scattered at sea by The Neptune Society.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, family and friends may honor his memory with a good deed or a contribution to any charity of their choosing.
