CROMWELL — Elaine D. Wilkinson, 81, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at River Glen Health Care Center.
Mrs. Elaine Doyle Wilkinson was born July 21, 1940, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Christine (McCarthy) Doyle. A longtime Waterbury resident, she attended Crosby High School, and went on to get her master’s in social work at Southern CT. She was employed by the State of Connecticut as a social worker, was a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and received an accommodation from the State of CT for her work as a Guardian Ad Litem. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf, the beach at her Old Saybrook “dream home,” playing Cribbage, her crosswords, Texas Hold ’em at the Elks, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the B.P.O.E. #265, Lodge of Elks.
Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by her children, Kathy Flaherty, Joseph Wilkinson (Tia Priolo), Michael Wilkinson (Jennifer Dominy), and Robert Wilkinson (Christine); her grandchildren, Sarah, Emma and Steven Doyle Flaherty, Madison Wilkinson, Kielan and Lucas Wilkinson, Danny Valdez, Brittany and Molly Wilkinson, Matthew Bouchard, Shane and Ian Wilkinson; a great-grandchild, Colton. Also, siblings, Roberta, Thomas, Patrick, Margaret Doyle, and Susan Hazelbaker, and many nieces, a nephew and cousins.
The family would like to extend their utmost thanks to all caregivers, and specifically acknowledge Jackie Cutillo and Lori Capozzi for the love and support they’ve shown.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Old St. Joseph Cemetery.
