NAUGATUCK — Christine S. Wilmot, 80, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Saint Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of David Wilmot.

Chris was born April 6, 1942, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late George and Phyllis (Lamper) Selee, and is survived by her brother George and his three children. She was a longtime resident of Naugatuck.

Besides her husband, Dave, of 57 years, Chris is survived by her daughters Debbie Hermonot and her husband Bob, and Jenny Oczkowski and her husband Jeff; her son Matt Wilmot and his wife Jeni; her grandchildren Alan, Mike, Emily, Amanda, Sarah, Matt, Olivia, Melissa, Jacob, Collin, Grant, Ava, Scott, and Tommy; her great-grandchildren Logan, Kolby, Alanna, and Rhyan. She is also survived by her several nieces and nephews.

Chris attended Waterbury public schools and continued her education at Post Junior College.

She worked in an optometrist’s office while in school. She later worked for Fotomat and Humbug and owned a ceramic business with a friend called Bits n’ Pieces.

Chris had an undeniable love for her family that always came first.

Her door was always open to all—nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping for the best deals.

Her giving spirit was felt by anyone who crossed her path.

Gatherings at her home for holidays made special memories that her family will hold close to their hearts forever. She truly loved traveling and camping with Dave and family. Her kind spirit and warm hugs will be forever missed.

The funeral service for Chris was to be on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Visitation was to be from 2 p.m. until the start of the service. Burial was to be at the convenience of the family in Gunntown Cemetery.
