MIDDLEBURY — Ann Louise Trombley, 80, widow of Carl L. Trombley, whom she was married to for 52 years, died Jan. 2, 2023, at her home.

Ann was born Oct. 31, 1942 in Lakewood, N.J., daughter of the late Edmund and Viola Bernardiener. Ann was raised in Lakewood, N.J., where she graduated from Lakewood High School. Ann graduated from Southern Connecticut State University and she was a teacher in the Naugatuck School System for 31 years, retiring in 2009.

Ann was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed participating in her monthly book club, as well as taking trips to the casino, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Carla Trombley of Naugatuck, Jennifer Clough and her husband David Clough, of Newbury, Mass., and Kristi Alcorace of Waterbury; Patrick Alcorace of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Jacob Alcorace, Amelia Alcorace and Zachary Clough; her sister, Barbara Barre of Arkansas; her brother, Edmund Bernardiener and his wife Saundra, of Georgia.

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 1263 West St., Middlebury. Everyone attending was asked to please meet directly at church. Burial was to be at a later date.

Calling hours were to be Monday, Jan. 16, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Ann’s memory, donations are requested to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
