ORANGE — Manivanh Sengphilom, 80, of Orange, beloved wife of the late Noy Sengphilom, died peacefully on Jan. 16, 2020, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

Born in Attapeu, Laos, on June 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Mr. Phiaveuth Ngolnavichit and the late Mrs. Xiene Inthavong Ngolnavichit, a granddaughter of the late “Anya Luang” Youn Ngolnavichit.

Mrs. Sengphilom was a homemaker and served as a benefit officer in the Laotian Army. She immigrated to the United States in 1980, first settling in Philadelphia, Pa., before relocating to Connecticut in 1983. Mrs. Sengphilom enjoyed cooking traditional Laotian dishes for her family, gardening and sewing.

She is survived by her devoted children, Mrs. Devone (Mr. Vonevisith) Chanla of Orange, Mrs. Patricia “Phet” (Mr. David) Olson of Shelton, Mr. Ge Sengphilom of Naugatuck, Mr. Bounkham “Aie” (Mrs. Ratda) Sengphilom of Seymour, Mrs. Manisamone (Mr. Phai) Homsombat of Laos, and Mrs. Manisakhone (Mr. Thone) Zaipasert of Laos; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Khampaseut Ngolnavichit.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at 9 a.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Cremation will directly follow in Oak Grove Crematory, (direct access) 760 First Ave., West Haven at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m.
