PORTUGAL — Joel C. Gaspar (Oliveirense), born June 5, 1957, died Jan. 15, 2020, in a car accident in Portugal. Joel was a longtime resident of Naugatuck.
He leaves behind his wife, Maria de Lurdes Gaspar; daughter, Ana Rita Gaspar; son-in-law, Joao Filipe Cascais; and grandson, Rodrigo Gaspar, all of Portugal. He also leaves behind his parents, Fausto and Maria Gaspar of Naugatuck; brothers and sisters, Madalena and Joseph Antonucci of Naugatuck, Emily and Angel Pabon of Florida, Irene and Peter LaRoe of Naugatuck, Sara and Thomas Hoyt of Terryville, Jose and Rita Gaspar of Naugatuck, Isabel and Peter Antonucci of Waterbury, Cristina Neidt of Oakville, Marco and Marcia Gaspar of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins; mother-in-law, Ilda Pinho; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Portugal.
He will be dearly missed.
Funeral service was Jan. 17, 2020, in Portugal.
