NAUGATUCK — Richard S. “Dick” Mezzio, 77, husband of Elsie Mezzio, died Dec. 18, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital.
Dick was born on Nov. 19, 1942 in Waterbury, the son of the late Sebastian and Marian (Sciascia) Mezzio, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Dick was a former owner of Mezzio’s Auto and Tire and Mezzio’s Pro Shop, and was the current owner of Stogie’s Cigar Shop.
In addition to his wife, Elsie, he leaves two daughters, Lisa Mezzio and Jennifer Mezzio; two grandsons, Michael and Jensen Mezzio; his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and John Reilly; his uncle, James Mezzio; his aunts, Nancy Payne and Grace Davison; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Dick’s wishes, all services will be private at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
