NAUGATUCK — Carolyn M. Anastasiou, 73, of Naugatuck entered into rest on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Stavros Anastasiou.
Carolyn was born on July 2, 1946 in Yorkshire Hull, England, daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Ellen (Johnson) Wilson.
Carolyn worked as a nurse’s aide at Griffin Hospital and in the Valley area for several years, and also dictated medical records. She lived in Greece with her husband for 15 years and was a huge fan of Walker, Texas Ranger. She enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals, and adored her granddaughter’s dogs. Carolyn will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, and the loving nature of her personality.
She is the beloved mother of Daniel Wilkinson and his wife, Liz Hulas, Jacqueline Hurlburt and Audrey Wilkinson, all of Naugatuck. Carolyn also leaves her loving grandchildren, Casey Hurlburt and her significant other, Jeffrey Jurzynski, of Oxford, and Josh Hurlburt and his fiancée, Reene Rivera, of Waterbury; and her cherished great-granddaughter, Ophelia Hurlburt-Rivera.
A graveside service will be held for Carolyn on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019 at 12 p.m. in New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck has been entrusted with her care.
