NAUGATUCK — Irving “Spike” Harold Krusko, 85, of Naugatuck, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jean (Januska) Krusko.

Irving was born in Waterbury on March 15, 1934, son of the late Metro and Marian (Brazee) Krusko. He worked at Risdon Manufacturing for 33 years and FMP for 10 years until his retirement. Before his Alzheimer’s robbed him of his abilities, he liked puttering around in his workshop, working in the yard and even shoveling snow. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on the porch watching the world go by and talking to the people walking past. He loved his family, especially his three grandsons of whom he was extremely proud.

In addition to his wife, Spike leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Irvette and Adrian Timms of Hummelstown, Pa.; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Krusko of Naugatuck; three grandsons, Liam and Devin Timms and Zakrey Krusko; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Stephen Krusko; and sister, Alice Dillon.

The family will have a celebration of Spike’s life on the anniversary of his birthday, March 15, 2020. Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. There are no calling hours.
