NAUGATUCK — Jeanne (DeCarlo) Johnson, 91, the widow of Franklin E. Johnson Sr., died peacefully on Oct. 15, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne was born on June 28, 1928 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late Louis and Lucy (Aquavia) DeCarlo, and lived in Naugatuck all of her life. Jeanne was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, Class of 1945. In 1951, Jeanne married Frank and they spent 58 wonderful years together. Her joy was found in spending time with her sisters, parents and raising her children. Family traditions, gatherings and holiday celebrations were most cherished.

Jeanne was a charter member of St. Vincent Ferrer Church and a longtime member of the Ladies Guild.

Jeanne lived out her faith through the love of family. She was a devoted daughter, wise mother, loving grandmother and a lifelong friend. She instilled her values in her children and grandchildren and she will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Frank E. Johnson Jr. and his wife, Joann; her daughters, Lori Felix and her husband, Art, Lisa Ricciardo and her husband, Jim, and Lynn Nobile and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Chad Felix, Natalie Higgins, James, Joseph and John Ricciardo, Matthew and Eric Johnson, Jessica and Jamie Nobile, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her sisters, Lois Guisti, Antoinette Keating and Lucille Grella.

The family would like to sincerely thank Jeanne’s special caregivers, Deanna, Samantha and Rachelle for the tenderness and love they provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is kindly asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
