NAUGATUCK — Barbara J. Rickman, 62, wife of Robert Rickman, died unexpectedly on Aug. 21, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital.

Barbara was born on May 4, 1957, a daughter of Euga Jackson and the late Anita (Warren) Robinson. Barbara was a U.S. Army veteran and she lived in Naugatuck for the past four years. Barbara was a faithful and active member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Norwalk, and recently of Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Bridgeport.

To her loving family and wide circle of friends, Barbara was known as a deeply devoted mother and wife, and a woman of uncommon piety and virtue. She possessed a profound wisdom that poured forth from her knowledge of sacred scripture and devotion to Roman Catholic tradition. Among her many other talents, she was a passionate and skilled crafter, and an accomplished cook, gardener, spinner, weaver and winemaker. Barbara was, and will always continue to be, a wellspring of inspiration and a guiding light to all who were privileged to know her.

In addition to her husband, Robert, and her father, Euga, Barbara is survived by her sons, Chris Rickman and his wife, Emily Rickman, and Brian Rickman; her brothers, Roger Jackson, Michael Warren and Tony Jackson; her sisters, Kathy Jackson, Karen Jackson and Ann Edwards, and several nieces and nephews.

A Solemn Requiem High Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church, 79 Church St., Bridgeport. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
