NAUGATUCK — Walter Waranowicz, 96, passed away Friday at VITAS Healthcare at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alice Waranowicz.
Mr. Waranowicz was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Naugatuck, the son of the late Michael and Stella (Ostapiec) Waranowicz. He was a longtime employee of Uniroyal Footwear, retiring after 39 years. He was also employed by Delson Hinge in Wolcott.
Mr. Waranowicz is survived by his children, Bill Waranowicz, Bob Waranowicz and his wife, Karen, Lynn Butler and her husband, Rich, and Mark Waranowicz and his wife, Pam; his grandchildren, Nicholas Ugolik and his wife, Melissa, Luke Ugolik and his wife, Sarah, Dan and Cliff Shoemaker, Chris, Andrew and Meaghan Krenisky; his great-grandchildren, Barrett, Graham, Bowen, Maddy, Ben, Alish, Charlotte, Alexander and Oliver. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Waranowicz is predeceased by his brother, Joseph, and his sisters, Jane and Helen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be follow in Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
