PACERVILLE, Calif — Jorge R. “Georgie” Estepa, 72, passed away at Marshall Medical Center on March 1, 2019, surrounded by his devoted sister and brother-in-law.

He was born in New York City on April 24, 1946, son of the late Jorge Estepa and Irma Davila. After high school, he joined the Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War veteran for which he received several service medals. After discharge, he moved to Los Angeles. He was a resident of
Redding for many years and worked for the DMV for many years. Jorge lived in California for over 50 years after retirement. He was an avid reader, loved swimming, enjoyed movies, taking course at the local college, and enjoyed his time with the senior citizens at the senior center.

Jorge is survived by his wife Luz of White City, Ore.; his sisters; Lumi Estepa Ruiz and her husband, Henry, of Naugatuck, Conn., Linda Estepa and Elexis Estepa, both of Virginia, and Rosario Estepa of Florida; his brother, Jorge Daniel Estepa of Texas. He is also survived by his niece, Marsha Gramaglia of Naugatuck, Conn.; nephews, Henry Ruiz of Arizona, Vincent Ruiz of Los Angeles, Stephen Ruiz, Massimo and Matteo Gramaglia, all of
Naugatuck, Conn.,; and other cousins of Florida and New York.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
