SOUTHBURY — Francis L. “Frank” Daly, 86, formerly of Naugatuck, died Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Danbury Hospital. He was the widower of Alfrieda (Rachuba) Daly and Eileen (Brooks) Daly.

Frank was born in Waterbury May 20, 1932, son of the late Francis L. and Charlotte (Kelley) Daly Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the LST 664 during the Korean War era. He was a boxer for the Navy and continued boxing after his enlistment ended. He was also a marathon runner and continued to run and workout throughout the rest of his life.

Frank enjoyed ballroom dancing and training dogs. He was a master electrician, and worked at Griffin Hospital until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Seymour Fish and Game Club, and was an accomplished skeet shooter. He loved working with kids and coached George J. Hummel Little League for many years, and led several of his teams to All-star championships.

Frank leaves his son, Frank Daly of Puerto Galera, Philippines; a daughter, Jennifer Daly of Waterbury; stepsons and stepdaughters, Gregory Briggs of Waterbury, Barbara Grimes of Fresno, Calif., Vincent Chambery of Ansonia, Anthony Chambery, Maria Stolfi of Cos Cob and Anita Michael of Wilton; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his life partner, Helen Dallow of Southbury; and his former wife, Louise (Briere) Daly. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy Daly, and his sister, Helena Easterbrook.

Funeral was held Thursday, April 11 from Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home to St. Francis of Assisi Church Naugatuck for Mass. Burial with military honors followed in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
