PROSPECT — Adolfo S. DePinho, 85, died Monday, April 15, 2019, in the VITAS Hospice unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Maria I. (Ribeiro) DePinho.

Adolfo was born in Arrifana, Portugal, Feb. 21, 1934, son of the late Francisco S. and Arminda (Brita) DePinho. He owned his own shoe company in Portugal before moving to the United States in 1965 for the betterment of his family. He then worked as a machinist at Olin Brass in Waterbury until his retirement more than 30 years ago.

He was a member of the Portuguese Sport Club, an avid soccer fan, rooting for his team Porto, and also enjoyed landscaping.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Max and Maria Lourdes Pinho of Naugatuck; daughters and sons-in-law, Idalina and Fernando Lucas of Prospect, Antonia and Joe Ribeiro, and Paula and Firmino Rodrigues of Brookfield; a brother, Jose DePinho of Portugal; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Carlos Santos of Portugal; a brother-in-law, Jose Resendes of Portugal; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Jason, Nicole, Ashley, Fernando, Gina, Alex, Nicholas and Lucas; his great-grandchildren, Melina, Mateo, Mason and Lino; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Laurinda Resendes, and a sister-in-law, Itelvina DePinho.

His funeral was held Thursday, April 18 from Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, Naugatuck, to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Waterbury, for Mass. Burial followed in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury.
