DERBY — Mrs. Adele G. (Gabris) Lasky, 105, of Derby, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at Griffin Hospital. She was the widow of John A. Lasky.

Mrs. Lasky was born in Ansonia on Nov. 24, 1908 and moved to Bethany, where she lived until her marriage to John Alphonse Lasky on Sept. 26, 1933. Beacon Falls became her home for 80 years. Her husband passed away on April 1, 1991. She then resided in Orange with her daughter, Helen Lasky Melchiore for 20 years. Her final years were spent at the Birmingham Health Center in Derby. Mrs. Lasky worked for 37 years at Uniroyal, Inc. in Naugatuck. She had a full life and enjoyed her family, travel, cooking and a game of seven card rummy. Believed to be one of the oldest Red Sox fans. Loved watching her favorite golfer Phil Mickelson.

She leaves her two daughters, Helen Lasky Melchiore of Orange and Irene Lasky-Briggs-Klotz and her husband Bob of Stockton, Calif.; grandchildren, Marla Melchiore Polites of Oakville, Salvatore J. Melchiore, Jr. and his wife Kersti of Orange, John F. Melchiore and his wife Jennifer of Northford, Cindy Briggs Peters of Lodi, Calif., Richard J. Briggs and his wife Coleen of Terryville, Lonnie Briggs Hall and her husband John of Lockford, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Taryn Polites Donnarummo and her husband Stephen of Meriden, Arielle Polites and Britney Polites both of Oakville, Sydney Melchiore and Zachary Melchiore both of Orange, Maverick Melchiore and Mason Melchiore both of Northford, Renee Peters and Amber Peters both of Hawaii, Shannon Briggs of California, Kyle Briggs and Ryan Briggs both of Wallingford, and Kiely Hall of Lockford, Calif.; great-great-grandchildren, Okono Peters of Hawaii and Eliana Adele Donnarummo of Meriden.

Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck on Tuesday, Jan. 21 form 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A mass will follow at St. Mary’s Church, 338 North Main St., at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
