NAUGATUCK — William P. (Bill) Passeck, 75, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Donna (Hyland) Passeck.

Bill was born on Nov. 4, 1937 in Waterbury a son of the late William and Eleanor (Johnson) Passeck. He attended St. Francis School and Naugatuck High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He followed in his fathers footsteps and was a firefighter of the Naugatuck Fire Department for 30 years, his dad was a Naugatuck firefighter for 24 years. He was a member of the Naugatuck Elks Lodge #967 for 31 years, was exalted ruler between 1990-91. He was the Elk of the year from 1996-1997, and he was also Connecticut State Elk of the Year. For many years he was the chairman for Elks National Veterans Service and enjoyed working with the veterans especially at the West Haven VA Hospital.

Besides his wife Donna he is survived by his sister, Marileen (Peaches) Passeck; his brother-in-law, Jay McGarvey of Florida; three nieces, Connie Cunningham and her husband Sean of Plantsville, Cindy Farrell of Georgetown, Del. and Cheryl Blake and her husband Tom of Plantsville; one step-son, Glen Romeo and one step-daughter, Andrea Birdsell and her husband Walt of Marlboro, Mass. He will also be missed by his seven great nieces and nephews, Shannon, Megan, Justin, Zachary, Karla, Jacob and Brooke, and two step-granddaughters, Amanda and Raven and close family friend, Linda McIntosh.

Bill was predeceased by his late wife Lillian after 43 years of marriage and by his sister Betty Ann (Passeck) McGarvey.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck on Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m.
