NAUGATUCK — Mr. Robert B. Brinckerhoff, 91, of Naugatuck, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2102 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the widower of Marjory (Melbourne) Brinckerhoff.

Mr. Brinckerhoff was born in Stamford on Nov. 25, 1921 a son of the late Judge James E. and Marion (Rae) Brinckerhoff. He was retired from Southbury Building Supply and was also the Superintendent of the Street Department in Naugatuck. He was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Naugatuck.

He was a United States Air Force veteran having served in the Aleutian Islands during World War II.

Mr. Brinckerhoff is survived by a son, James E. Brinckerhoff and his wife Cheryl of Naugatuck; a daughter, Jane Witherwax and her husband Jeff of Woodbury, and Stuart, Fla.; three grandchildren, Robert Witherwax and his wife Kate of Brooklyn, N.Y., Sara Brinckerhoff of Las Vegas, Nev., and Douglass Brinckerhoff of Naugatuck; two great-grandchildren, Catie Witherwax and Teddy Witherwax; two nephews and one niece.

Besides his wife of 64 years he was also predeceased by two brothers, Rae and Richard Brinckerhoff and one sister, Eleanor Brinckerhoff.

Private funeral services and burial with full military honors will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
