PROSPECT — Marcel Normandin, 87, of Prospect passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012. He was the husband of the late Marceline (O’Brien) Normandin.

Mr. Normandin was born on Sept. 19, 1924 in Woonsocket, R.I. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy in World War II where he received the American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Victory Medal. He was a U.S. postal carrier in Waterbury for over 30 years.

Marcel is survived by his sons, Robert Normandin of Prospect and Michael Normandin and his wife Marisa of Taunton, Mass.; his daughter, Patricia Davino and her husband Craig of Prospect; one sister, Florence Beckett and her husband William of Great Falls, Mont.; four grandchildren, Noelle, Justin, Stephen and Sarah.

He was predeceased by one son, James Normandin, and his sister Beatrice Jarceau.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect to St. Anthony’s Church for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
