Obituary: Dennis D. Meiklem

NAUGATUCK — Dennis D. Meiklem, 65, passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Annette (Spencer) Meiklem.

Mr. Meiklem was born on Dec. 28, 1945 in West Haven a son of the late Kenneth and Gertrude (Greenwood) Meiklem. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the William Britain Collectors Club.

Besides his loving wife Annette he is also survived by two daughters, Karen Meiklem DeGeorge and Christine Meiklem; two sons, Dennis Meiklem and John Meiklem, and son-in-law, David DeGeorge, all of Naugatuck; one brother, James Meiklem of Waterbury. He also leaves his five grandchildren, Robert, Aric, Carissa, Rebecca and Mariah, one great-granddaughter, Aleyah and several nieces and nephews. Dennis will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his sister, Marsha Reed.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
