Obituary: Albino DaSilva Timoteo

NAUGATUCK — Mr. Albino DaSilva Timoteo, 96, died Sunday, Aug. 7, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband for 65 years of Maria (Henriques) Timoteo.

Mr. Timoteo was born in Murtosa, Portugal on Jan. 25, 1915 a son of the late Manuel and Isabella Timoteo. He came to the United States in 1960 and worked at the W.J. Megin Company in Naugatuck for many years. He later worked at Scovill Manufacturing in Waterbury until retiring in 1978. Mr. Timoteo was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury and was a member of the Naugatuck Portuguese Club. He enjoyed gardening and cultivating fig trees.

Besides his wife, Mr. Timoteo is survived by two sons, Albino M. Timoteo of Naugatuck and Asencio “Ace” Timoteo and his wife Patricia of Naugatuck; two granddaughters, Rachel M. Timoteo and her Fiance Michael P. Koerner of Vernon and Elizabeth K. Timoteo and her friend Matthew L. Weston of Vernon; a brother, Joao and his wife Josephine of Gillette, N.J.; a sister in law, Maria Marques of Bluffton, S.C. and five nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Manuel and Arsencio and one sister Maria.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug.10, at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect, to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury, for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
