NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck YMCA is reopening this week for an assisted distance learning school age child care program.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the YMCA, 284 Church St. The program will follow guidelines from the Office of Early Childhood and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As part of the program, staff will assist children with distance learning, a news release stated.
The YMCA will implement measures such as social distancing, health screenings, and increased disinfecting of rooms and equipment for the program. The Naugatuck Rotary Club has awarded the YMCA a $600 grant to purchase infrared no-touch forehead thermometers for use for the program and summer camp. Plans for summer camp are still being developed. Summer camp is scheduled to begin June 29.
