PROSPECT — Police are investigating a report of a forged check that was cashed at the Ion Bank on Waterbury Road.
Police said a woman cashed a forged check for $2,320 at the bank Dec. 18. The check was from a Washington Trust account in the name of a Warwick, R.I., resident, police said.
The woman used the stolen identification of an Ion Bank customer to cash the check and drove a Chevy Impala that had a stolen license plate on it, police said.
Police said the woman cashed another forged check at an Ion Bank in Wallingford before doing it in Prospect.
The case remains under investigation.
