NAUGATUCK — Wayne Winsley of Naugatuck, a Republican candidate for the U. S. House of Representatives I the Third District, recently received endorsements from officials within the district.

According to a release issued by Winsley’s campaign, Beacon Falls First Selectman Gerard Smith, state Sen. Rob Kane (R-32), and state Rep. Len Green Jr. (R-105) endorsed Winsley last week. These endorsements followed endorsements from state Sen. Len Fasano (R-34), state Sen. Len Suzio (R-13), and Republican Town Committee Chairmen Robert Poliner of Durham and Earl J. Swan III of Guilford.

“I am deeply honored to have so many great people standing beside me in this effort. Our message is simple: With a total team effort, we can break Rosa DeLauro’s 20-year grip on the Third District, and finally have representation that reflects the will of the people and respects the Constitution of the United States. Together, we are going to shock the world this November by proving Connecticut’s Third District is not only in play, but winnable,” Winsley said in a prepared statement.

The convention to endorse the Republican candidate for Congress in the Third Congressional District will be held on May 18.
