Wayne Winsley’s Congressional campaign released the following statement regarding President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address scheduled for tonight:

“This evening, the people of Connecticut’s Third Congressional District, struggling against an abysmal economy and high unemployment rates, will watch as President Obama addresses the nation through his annual State of the Union report to the U.S. Congress.

“After three years of subjecting the people of greater New Haven County to higher taxes and burdensome regulations, with the support of his allies, like Rosa DeLauro, President Obama is expected to offer more of the same: more taxes, more regulation, and more misery for the American people.

“From the stage of the United States Capitol, President Obama is expected to end all pretenses at governing and launch himself into full campaign mode. President Obama seeks to win his election in November through division and class warfare and will offer no real solutions to the economic challenges facing our nation.

“America and the greater New Haven area need new leadership in Washington. Wayne Winsley, the Republican candidate for the Third Congressional District, is prepared to rise above the gridlock in Washington and offer real solutions to the people of New Haven County. Wayne knows what it is like struggle through difficult economic times. He knows the pressures of running a small business. He knows what it is like to provide for a family when times are tough.

“Wayne Winsley is prepared to offer real solutions to the struggling families and small businesses of New Haven County. President Obama has had three years to get the economy going. Rosa DeLauro has had over 20 years. It is time for a real change. Please join Wayne Winsley in bringing real change to Washington this November.”

Wayne Winsley, a Republican from Naugatuck, is a U.S. Navy veteran, former radio broadcaster, and motivational speaker running for Congress.
