PROSPECT — Woodland Regional High School senior Mike Tuohy is working to help “Wiff Out Myeloma.”

Tuohy, a Prospect resident, is organizing a five-on-five wiffleball tournament, called “Wiff Out Myeloma,” as his senior project. When Tuohy was 2 years old, his father, Michael Tuohy, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer formed by malignant plasma cells. Since then, he has been passionate about supporting research for multiple myeloma.

All proceeds from the wiffleball tournament will be donated to the International Myeloma Foundation for research.

The tournament is scheduled for May 14 starting at 10 a.m. at Hotchkiss Field on New Haven Road. A rain date is set for May 15. The tournament is limited to the first ten teams of five players to register. The deadline to register is May 6.

For more information, to donate or to register, call Tuohy at 203-709-1419 or visit www.wiffleball.myeloma.org.
