NAUGATUCK — Christine Ieronimo is coming to the Whittemore Library to discuss Ethiopia and her children’s book, “Drinking From Puddles, Through Eva’s Eyes.”

In April of 2008, Ieronimo, a Naugatuck native and a nurse with 18 years of experience, traveled to Ethiopia to adopt a 2-year-old girl. A few days after their return home, she found her daughter drinking from a puddle in the driveway. At that moment, she realized that this child used to drink from puddles. It represented all the struggles she had to endure in order to survive and she was only two.

Ieronimo became obsessed with clean water and decided to share their story with children everywhere by writing the book, which will be published in 2013.

Ieronimo will be at the library on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at (203) 729-4591.
