NAUGATUCK —The Whittemore Library will feature the artwork of Middlebury resident ShawnaLee Kwashnak through February.
Kwashnak is a portrait artist who works in pencils, charcoals and oils, according to a press release issued by the library. Her work “reflects a realistic fine arts approach” and her training in studio art and graphic design/illustration has allowed her to work in a variety of artist’s media, the release stated.
Kwashnak has been the recipient of a number of awards at different venues, including the Draft Horse Classic Art Show, and by a number of different organizations, including the Watertown Art League and the Oxford Commission for the Arts. Her work is held in collections throughout the U.S. and she has been known to support local animal rescue organizations and local equestrian trails as well as advocate for animal welfare, according to the release.
