ProspectPolicePROSPECT — Waterbury police assisted the Prospect Resident Trooper’s Office in recovering GPS units stolen from the Woodcrest Drive area earlier this month, state police said.

Resident Trooper Matt Comeau said during the week of March 8, four residents in the area of Woodcrest Drive reported their GPS units taken from their vehicles.

Waterbury Police Detective Kyle Howles later notified Comeau they had recovered several GPS units from a stolen vehicle, he said.

The car was reported stolen March 2 on Lakewood Road in the city, and was recovered in Bethany two days later, said Waterbury Acting Deputy Police Chief Christopher Corbett, department spokesman.

Howles was working the stolen car case, and as part of that investigation, three or four GPS units were recovered in the car, he said.

Howles determined they were stolen out of Prospect, Corbett said.
