The Connecticut Water Company will begin flushing water mains in the area this week.
The work will begin Monday and be completed by May 1, according to a press release.
Water mains will be flushed in several towns, including Naugatuck, Beacon Falls and Prospect. Flushing will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
During water main flushing it is possible that some customers may experience discolored water and pressure fluctuations, the release stated. The discolored water should clear within a few hours. While experiencing discolored water, customers should avoid using their washing machine, dishwasher or other water using devices. If discolored water persists for more than a few hours, customers should call 1-800-286-5700.
