NAUGATUCK — The Connecticut Water Company will begin installing a temporary water main on portions of Goodyear Avenue, Lynn Road, Moore Avenue, and Trowbridge Place Thursday.

According to the Public Works Department the temporary water main is being installed to assist the borough with the installation of storm water drainage. The work is expected to take 10 days to complete, weather permitting.

Following the construction of the temporary main, individual flexible customer service lines will be placed from the temporary main to the outside faucet or curb stop of some homes in the area. When water service is switched to the temporary main, it may be necessary to interrupt water service for a short period of time.

Once the town completes the installation of the storm drain, the company will install a permanent replacement water main and each home will then be connected to the permanent main.

Anyone who experiences problems with the temporary main can contact Connecticut Water Company’s customer assistance at (800) 286-5700.
