Warning issued for tossing trash in town, school dumpsters

PROSPECT — Both Mayor Robert Chatfield and Region 16 Superintendent of Schools Tim James are warning people who have been putting their garbage bags into town and or school district dumpsters to stop it, the mayor said.

If anyone is caught doing this, it is considered a theft of services and that person will be turned over to the police, Chatfield said. It costs the town and regional school district more when someone puts their garbage in the dumpsters, he added.

“We would ask the people doing that to please stop,” Chatfield said.
