The expansion is a minor addition to the north side of the store which will add a grocery to the building, according to John Knuff, a representative from Walmart.
During a public hearing at the zoning meeting last Wednesday night, Knuff said he has been making his way through the various commissions he needs to gain approval for Walmart’s special permit.
There was no public comment at the Wednesday night meeting.
The next public hearing will be Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hall of Burgesses in Naugatuck Town Hall.
