BFTownHall2BEACON FALLS — Residents at a town meeting tonight can vote on proposed changes to four existing ordinances.

It starts at 7 at the Beacon Falls firehouse, 35 North Main St. Copies of the proposed revisions are at the town clerk’s office at Town Hall, 10 Maple Ave.

A proposed revision to an ordinance for tax relief for the elderly and disabled homeowners would change the calculation for the tax credit, First Selectman Gerard Smith said.

This proposed change would allow the Board of Selectmen to issue a maximum tax credit of $500 to eligible persons, he said. If it isn’t approved, the maximum tax credit allowed would be $200 for fiscal year 2013-14, he said.

Other proposed revisions would add language to a noise ordinance that would cover all-terrain vehicles; would eliminate the Board of Assessors from an ordinance on biennial elections; and would change the number of members on the Land Use Committee to seven on the ordinance establishing the committee.
